“Ciacho” stays with us!

It is time for an another update on our line-up for the 2020/2021 season. Agnieszka “Ciacho” Kaczmarczyk is staying in Gorzów for the next season. It is going to be her eighth season playing on our team in the Polish top league. As for the world of today's professional sport, we can safely say that this is an exceptional situation and we treat "Ciacho" as a player closely connected to our club. In the previous season during the EBLK basketball league, Agnieszka scored the average of 3.6 points and 5.5 rebounds, and 3.1 points and 4.8 rebounds in the EuroCup games.

“Due to her earlier hand injury, Agnieszka’s beginning of the previous season was not quite successful. Since January, her performance has been developing and she has played better and better. Hence the offer to have her play for us in the next season. I believe that she will become a valuable player in our team from the beginning. I'm hoping for her good defense and offense play. If she manages, I will try to put her more on the court. In addition, her experience will be valuable for introducing our young player playing on the same position,” said coach Dariusz Maciejewski.

The player admits that the negotiations were not hard and she was willing to extend the contract with our club. Agnieszka is optimistic about the upcoming season and believes that once again she, as a part of the AZS AJP Gorzów Wielkopolski team, will fight for medals during Energa Basket Liga Kobiet games.

“The fact that I decided to extend the contract was influenced by many factors, both sporting and non-sporting ones. Gorzów surely is one of the best clubs in terms of organization. It is a solid club where a player can feel safe considering these strange and difficult times. What I always emphasize and love about Gorzów is of course the fans. They ensure the atmosphere in the stands is amazing and the tifos are impressive. This is a place I trusted a long time ago and nothing has changed since then," said Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk.

What will the new season be like?

“I think there is a certain lack of satisfaction after last season. So we will try to make this unfulfilled plan work now. The past season was difficult for me because I just got back after a severe injury. I am starting this season with a different attitude, without fear or insecurity. I want the team to be able to count on me not only in defense but also in offense,” adds “Ciacho”.
