Borislava Hristova will be a new basketball player in AZS AJP Gorzów! She is the greatest talent of Bulgarian basketball. She scored a career-high 38 points in NCAA. Moreover, she is the U-16 and U-18 European Championships Division B MVP. This is an another update on our line-up for the 2020/2021 season!

It is becoming our tradition to find a talented player who will make her debut in professional basketball. This time we chose the most promising player of Bulgarian basketball. Borislava Hristova was born to be a shooter. She is a leader of scoring points in both, the Bulgarian national junior team and her US college team.  In 2011, she was appointed as the MVP of the U-16 European Championships Division B with the average of 25 points and 7.8 rebounds. Then, in 2014 she was appointed as the MVP of the U-18 European Championships Division B with the average of 27.9 points and 7.4 rebounds. Hristova is this year's graduate of Washington State where in the previous season she scored the average of 18.4 points and 5.1 rebounds. Throughout five years of playing in NCAA, she has scored more than 20 points in 49 games as well as over 30 points on seven different games and her all-time record for points is 38!

“I am glad that it is our Club where Borislava will start her professional career. Despite many offers she received after finishing her NCAA college career, she decided to join our team. I know that Laura Juškaitė was helpful in making this decision," said coach Dariusz Maciejewski.

“Borislava saw that Laura improved her basketball skills during two years of playing in Gorzów in a strong Polish league and in EuroCup games. Thanks to that she signed a very good contract in Valencia, Spain. I am counting on her versatility and great skills in scoring points. I believe that she will quickly become an important part of our team in the upcoming season,” added coach AZS AJP Gorzów.

Why did the basketball player who is considered to be the greatest talent of Bulgarian basketball choose our Club?

“I am very excited about the new chapter of playing basketball. I will play in a club with an excellent reputation and with many very good and talented basketball players in the line-up.  I have heard amazing things about the club and the Gorzów community. I know that you have great fans who support the team unconditionally," said Borislava Hristova.

Her all-time record for points in NCAA (38) clearly shows that Hristova can be a team leader. What are her strengths and what is it that she wants to give to the team in Gorzów this season?

“I am a very courageous, ambitious and versatile basketball player and I can share different elements of my basketball skills with the team. My goal for the first year as a professional player is to show my full potential. I would like to introduce the necessary elements to the team so that the season is successful. I also want to learn a lot from the experienced basketball players and coaches I will work with,” said the new basketball player of AZS AJP Gorzów.
