Paula stays with us!

It is time for an another update on our line-up for the 2020/2021 season! Paula Duchnowska, who started her sports career at our Club, is staying in Gorzów. In the previous season, she scored the average of 14.6 points and 3.3 rebounds during first league games, and 11.3 points and 3.5 rebounds in the U-22 Women Polish Championships.  It is going to be a difficult come-back to playing basketball for Paula because of her severe injury – a cruciate ligament rupture. Everybody at the Club supports her and wait patiently for her to be back in the game.

Paula, who has been at our Club from the beginning of her adventure with basketball, was born in Gorzów. As a captain of our junior teams, she has always been a leader of the teams fighting for Polish Championships medals. Not only in terms of sports but also mentally. She would always be very supportive for her younger colleagues. She suffered a severe knee injury during the U-22 Polish Youth Championships. She is out of surgery now and knows we are waiting for her and she can always count on us at the Club. She cannot rush back to the game after having a torn ligament but if everything goes well, Paula will start training with us in January and let us enjoy her games and many "3-pointers" made in the EBLK basketball league,” said coach Dariusz Maciejewski.

“I am happy that I am staying in Gorzów. The upcoming season will surely be completely different for me. I will have to devote most of the time during the season to rehabilitation and recovery so that I will able to help the team. I hope I will manage to do it as soon as possible," said Paula Duchnowska.
